What Month is It?
Advertising is twigi. Plain and simple. Tale for instance what I found in my newspaper today, Sunday, May 4th. An advertisement for Danbury Mint's Snoopy Halloween Tree. On the website they just call it the Snoopy Halloween Tree, but whatever. Point being, it's 5 months before October even gets here. I guess I can expect Christmas items to be advertised in July this year.
More twigi advertisements from Nutrisystem. That's one of those weight loss programs with the before and after pictures where something seems off like this lady. The before picture, she's wearing that baggy shirt and sitting down. How can I tell that she actually lost weight? Maybe she just started wearing tighter fitting clothes. And this lady. Before: Close up shot in loose clothing. After: Shot further back in tighter clothing. The one I found in today's paper had a lady wearing this huge, flowing brown smock-like garment before, and a bikini after. The before picture looked like a skinny lady in big clothing. Now I'm not saying Nutrisystem doesn't work, because I don't know. These may be real people who really lost all this weight, but Nutrisystem's advertisements are unconvincing if you take the time to look at the pictures.
But then, advertisements in all their forms are designed to make you think something that's not necessarily true...Advertising is one of the oldest forms of TWIGI.
